A need

Good morning my friends. I can’t recall ever using this email list to straight ask up for money. I always try to make things interesting, entertaining, and then tie it into a service or product I’m promoting.

There’s a right way and a wrong way to do just about everything, and I believe the approach I’ve just described is the right way to go about marketing via email.

However, circumstances merit I send this message, and it is due to a legit need we’re experiencing right now.

This past weekend, I visited my son in Virginia. We were planning on driving to S. Carolina where my brother and his family lives. However, an hour or so into the trip, my car, which I’ve stored in Virginia since moving to MN in November, overheated.

So no trip to S. Carolina. A bunch of expenses for towing, hotels that were unanticipated. Plus I wasn’t able to sell that car for the price I had agreed upon with a friend in the area. Instead I sold it to a junkyard for pennies on the dollar.

That was going to fund our trip to Orlando, where I am now typing this for a podcasting conference this week.

But the little funds I still had were consumed for the rental car, a hotel for a couple of nights, and we feel kind of stranded to be honest. It’s not a good feeling.

This conference IS going to help build my business. It is going to allow me to meet people who can make introductions to other people who will bring my online presence up a level.

I also plan to market my podcast production services at the conference. Not as an official vendor, but just networking, getting to know people.

So a lot of good will come of it.

But I need some help making it through this week.

With hotels, the rental car, food, it adds up quickly.

So I’m going to just come right out and say it. If you are inspired by anything I write, speak, publish, etc. and you want to help build my business, this is how you can do it. Just reach out via email, or call me if you have my phone number (which I won’t give out on this email) and let’s talk.

I really mean this. If you like what I do and who I am, and would like to help me continue publishing stuff on a grander scale, I really need the help right now.

This is not natural for me to make this ask, but I think it needs to be made.
