Professional Bio:
James D. Newcomb is a musician, media producer, writer, and publisher whose work brings serious ideas into clear and engaging public conversation. A veteran trumpet player and vocalist, he spent twelve years performing with U.S. Army bands and has remained active as a performer, interviewer, and advocate for thoughtful musical culture.
James is the founder and Chief Publisher of Gramer-Petrulo, an independent media company devoted to substantive podcasts, written commentary, interviews, and original productions. His projects include That’s What I Meant to Say, a long-form interview and commentary program, and Well, That’s a Deep Subject, which translates academic research and complex ideas into language intended for a wider audience.
James is currently pursuing doctoral studies in government at Regent University. Outside his professional work, James is a husband and father and is active in the life of his home parish, St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church in Minneapolis.
